Hello, My name is Terry Sullivan and I was appointed as the superintendent of schools for School District 73 Kamloops-Thompson effective September 1st of this year.

I want to introduce myself and to give you some information about school start up next week. You should have received information via email this week from your child or children’s principal regarding orientation week, new health and safety protocols and the student health assessment agreement.  On Tuesday or Wednesday of next week a staff member from your child or children’s school will be contacting you regarding your intentions with respect to school attendance starting next week or alternative learning models.

We are all aware that COVID-19 is a communicable disease which is being dealt with by school districts not only in Canada but around the world. It is a significant challenge for us and for you, but I want to assure you that our school start up plan has been approved by the Ministry of-Education and meets all the requirements for school start up established by the Provincial Health Officer.

Please refer to our school district website or the website of your child or children’s school to review our district start-up plan.  We will continue to post all current information regarding this matter to these sites as this issue continues to evolve.  Please refer to these sites frequently to remain informed.

We appreciate your support as we work together to provide an environment where children can return safely to school.

 Thank you for listening.
