2025 Elementary Basketball Season Recap

Posted On Friday March 14, 2025

Story provided by Grant Naylor, Pinantan Elementary School Principal

With the final buzzer this week, on March 12, 2025, we brought to a conclusion our 2025 SD73 Elementary Basketball season. While we had two outstanding games on Wednesday between our Boys and Girls finalists for our Tier 1 Competitive Divisions, it is important to note that this season we had over 140 teams participating in three different divisions. This equates to around 1,700 of our Grade 4-7 students participating in elementary school basketball this season. With almost 400 scheduled games played in the past 7 weeks, we as a sports council would like to thank all of the volunteers and organizers at the school level who made this season possible and successful. Without the help of these volunteer coaches, teacher sponsors, referees, and scorekeepers, none of these games would have been nearly as successful as they were.

We would like to congratulate all student athletes this season for their hard work, commitment and dedication to further developing their skills and sportsmanship within the game of basketball.

A huge thank you to our finals host school Parkcrest Elementary as well. It was great to see hundreds of spectators out last night supporting their schools. We would like to congratulate the runners up in the Boys (Marion Schilling Elementary) and Girls divisions (Kay Bingham Elementary) for their great play and sportsmanship in the finals. We would also like to congratulate our SD73 Elementary Tier 1 Competitive champions for the 2025 season in both the Boys (RL Clemitson Elementary) and Girls (Rayleigh Elementary) for their success this year.
