The Kamloops-Thompson Board of Education Welcomes Mike McKay as Superintendent and Harold Cull as Secretary-Treasurer
On behalf of the Kamloops-Thompson Board of Education, Board Chair Heather Grieve is pleased to announce that the Board has reached an agreement with Mike McKay to fulfill the position of Superintendent, commencing immediately and ending December 31, 2025, by which time the Board will have appointed a new Superintendent to lead the district.
Mike McKay has worked in several school districts and at the Ministry of Education and Child Care over a long career in education. He served as Superintendent/CEO in Saanich and subsequently in Surrey and has supported several districts before and following his retirement.
Board Chair Heather Grieve commented “Mr. McKay brings extensive leadership experience and a steady, collaborative approach that will help guide the district through this transitional period.”
McKay joins Harold Cull as members of the Board’s executive team. Mr. Cull was recently appointed as Secretary-Treasurer until December 31, 2025. Mr. Cull was previously the Secretary-Treasurer at Sooke School District and has extensive experience working in the public sector.
Recruitment for both the Superintendent and Secretary-Treasurer positions will commence early in the Fall.
