Board Award of Recognition

Board AwardOn April 8, 2024, the Board passed a resolution to start a Board Recognition Award:

The Board approves the start of the District Awards Committee that will start with the first Board Award, name to be further refined in criteria through consultation, but that will be awarded to Frannie Connett at the Regular Public Board Meeting on May 6, 2024.

On Monday, May 6, 2024, the Kamloops-Thompson Board of Education joined together with the Chase Secondary staff and district community to honour Fran Connett with the first ever Board Award of Recognition. Read more

Criteria

An individual (not necessarily a SD73 employee, it can be someone who has worked closely with SD73) who is collaborative, enthusiastic, selfless, generous, and a positive risk taker who makes the school environment better.

Eligibility

This individual makes the school environment better by: supporting growth for all learners, promoting emotional, psychological, and physical wellbeing for learners who have been historically marginalized, removing barriers and providing accessible and empowering opportunities for students to learn and grow.

Deadline and Nomination Process

By April 25, 2025, complete these three steps to nominate an individual.

Step 1: Complete the nomination form:  

Step 2. Collect the following support documentation:

  • Three letters of support from sources other than the nominator and representing a broad range of interests. 
  • A description (2-pages maximum) of how this individual has made the school environment better by meeting the eligibility criteria above.
  • A biographical statement (1-page maximum) that enables the committee to learn about the professional and personal background of the nominee.
