The three properties under consideration are:

216 Highway 24, Little Fort, BC
216 Highway 24, Little Fort, BCThe property located at 216 Highway 24 in Little Fort was the former location of the Little Fort Elementary School. It consists of a 1.207 acre parcel and former school building. The school was closed by Board motion in March 1998 due to limited student enrolment in the community. The Board was transferred this property in 1915 by a private citizen.
2393 Parkcrest Avenue, Kamloops, BC
2393 Parkcrest Avenue, Kamloops, BCThe property at 2393 Parkcrest Avenue, Kamloops BC consists of a 1.82 acre parcel. This property is within the Brocklehurst community and is surrounded by a developed residential neighbourhood. The Board purchased this property from a private citizen in 1954. This property is considered too small for a school site and is not required for educational purposes.
435 Arrowstone Drive, Kamloops, BC

435 Arrowstone Drive, Kamloops, BCThe property at 435 Arrowstone Drive, Kamloops BC consists of a 1.29 acre parcel. This property is adjacent to Sa-Hali Secondary School and is surrounded by several multi-family units. The Board acquired this property in 1991 and is considered too small for a school site and is not required for educational purposes.

In Fall 2024, the Kamloops-Thompson Board of Education elected to sell three properties that were not required for educational purposes in the Kamloops-Thompson School District.  

As part of the Disposition of Real Property process, the Board of Education and District staff engaged in public consultation from September 24–November 12, 2024to gather community feedback on the proposed disposal of lands and buildings. Engagement included letters to local governments, municipalities, First Nations, and education partners, website news releases, phone calls, a public webinar, and community survey.   

Parkcrest Park & Little Fort Properties:  

At the Regular Public Board Meeting on November 18, 2024, the Board reviewed the consultation feedback and made motions to proceed with the next stage of government consultation for the Parkcrest and Little Fort parcels of land parcel.  

On July 4, 2025, the District received disposal of land approval from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Ministry of Education and Child Care for Parkcrest Park and Little Fort.  

At the August 25, 2025, Regular Public Board meeting, the Board unanimously approved and gave three readings of the Disposal of Real Property Bylaws for these two properties (No. 2025-01 and No. 2025-02).  

From September 24–October 31, 2025, a Little Fort property was listed as for sale on the District Website and BC Bid. 

On November 20, 2025, the District and City of Kamloops announced the City’s purchase of Parkcrest Park. Read the news release here 

Sa-Hali Park Property:  

The Sa-Hali Park parcel of land had a restrictive covenant which required the Board to sell only to the neighbouring landowners.  

On September 8, 2025, the District received Ministry approval for the sale of Sa-Hali Park 

At the Regular Public Board meeting on October 27, 2025, the Board unanimously approved and gave three readings of the Disposal of Real Property Bylaw for the Sa-Hali Park property (No. 2025-03).
