Register at the school.

Dates for Schools of Choice is from:

January 28, 2019 until February 1, 2019
9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm
Please note registration ends at noon on February 1, 2019

Please register anytime during this period.
This registration is NOT first come, first served.

  • French Immersion accepts new students entering kindergarten and grade 1 only. 
  • Kamloops School of the Arts accepts students entering kindergarten to grade 12.
  • Bert Edwards Science & Technology School accepts students entering kindergarten to grade 6.
  • Montessori accepts students entering kindergarten to grade 6.

To be eligible for attendance in kindergarten in September 2019, a student must be five years of age by December 31, 2019.  Please bring your child’s original birth certificate, BC Services Card and proof of address with you when registering and any legal documentation concerning custody (if applicable).

Kindergarten registration for neighbourhood schools is from: 

February 11 until Feburary 15, 2019. 
9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm

Parents are strongly encouraged to register children for kindergarten on these dates.

To be eligible for attendance in kindergarten in September 2019, a student must be five years of age by December 31, 2019.  Please bring your child’s original birth certificate, BC Services Card, proof of address and any legal documentation concerning custody (if applicable) with you when registering. 

Registration in kindergarten in neighbourhood schools is limited to students residing in the school/program catchment area.  Catchment Information is available below.

Kindergarten Round-up Infomation session
If you have a child entering kindergarten in September 2019, join us to learn about kindergarten and childcare with presentations by an Early Learning Coordinator, an Aboriginal Resource Teacher and an Early Childhood Educator.

Registration for this session is not required.

 

 School Catchment Boundaries

Following a public consultation process in 2010, the Board of Education approved implementation of new school catchment areas within the City of Kamloops.  Starting September 2011, the catchment area boundaries are in effect for all schools.  

Use the City of Kamloops' property information finder (link below) to enter a residential address and obtain the school that residence belongs to. Enter your home street address then click FIND then click on "Property Report". Your school catchment for both secondary and elementary will be shown under the first heading "Parcel Description and Location". 

 Enrolling your Kindergarten Student

 To expedite the registration process for your child for the 2019/2020 school year, please follow these steps:

  1. Download and print the Student Enrollment Form. 
  2. Bring the completed form, required documents (original birth certificate, BC Services Card and proof of residency) to the enrolling school.    
  • Student Enrollment Form (PDF)  **Must be printed on legal size paper. If you are unable to print the form, forms are available at all schools and can be filled out at the school.
