Henry Grube Education Centre

The Henry Grube Education Centre is the physical and virtual hub of the school district. The HGEC provides comprehensive services and spaces to support SD73 work and includes access to a district Library Learning Commons (LLC) and the district Print and Graphics Shop and Audiovisual Department. Curriculum and Instruction 

Our district's curriculum coordinators and resource teachers work from the HGEC, supporting curriculum implementation and professional development. The curriculum coordinators support the core competencies, arts education, early learning and childcare, library, literacy, and numeracy, second languages, and technology integration curricula. Indigenous Education 

The HGEC is home to the Indigenous Education Department. We are committed to supporting, enhancing and increasing school success for all First Nations, Inuit, Metis and self-identified Indigenous students in the district. We do this through professional development, increasing awareness, cultural and academic support and opportunities for students, parents, and staff.

Inclusive Education Services

The district's Inclusive Education Services is also housed at the HGEC. Inclusive Education Services support schools to engage all learners in an inclusive school experience that is participatory and enabling. Inclusive Education Services personnel include itinerant teachers, School and Family Consultants, Mental Health Clinicians, Speech and Language Pathologists, School Psychologists, and Inclusion Support Teachers.

Print and Graphics Shop and Audiovisual Department

The district's Print and Graphics Shop and Audiovisual Department are part of the HGEC. The Print Shop provides graphic design and printing for the district and the Audiovisual Department provides resources and technical support to schools for assemblies and productions.

HGEC Library Learning Commons

The HGEC Library Learning Commons provides staff access to a collection of culturally diverse multimedia resources supporting K-12 teachers with the implementation of the BC Curriculum and Core Competencies. Locally Reviewed Novels

The district provides a local novel review process, highlighting engaging literature and providing teachers with information to help them decide if the novels support their instructional goals, have literary merit, and are suitable for their students. eResources

The district provides all students and staff access to digital content for personalized learning, research and inquiry-based learning approaches. Room Bookings at the HGEC

Meeting rooms are regularly used by the district for educational sessions, events and training, with a seating capacity of up to 160. Technical equipment and videoconferencing are available to users upon request.
