Human Resources

Our vision is to be a dynamic school district achieving success for all students through a commitment to equity and excellence.

That commitment extends to our 2,650 employees (1,700 Full Time Equivalent). Our employee groups include Principals / Vice Principals (Kamloops Thompson Principals and Vice-principals' Association), Teachers (Kamloops Thompson Teachers' Association) and Support Staff (Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 3500). Through its Human Resources Department, SD73 is dedicated to providing professional, equitable and consistent labour practise and leadership in alignment with the Five-Year Strategic Plan.

Our goals include:

  • Maintaining and promoting positive, proactive labour relations practises for all employee groups.
  • Improving integration and communications of all employee data.
  • Recruiting and retaining a highly skilled workforce.
  • Developing a culture of Health, Safety and Wellness for all staff.

People are our largest and most important resource, which demonstrates the inherent value of the work of the Human Resources department and of our collaboration with other departments within the district.
