Happy Pride Month from SD73!

In June, we celebrate Pride Month as part of our ongoing commitment to creating educational experiences that are free from discrimination, sexism, harassment, and homophobia. Guided by the District Strategic Plan and our core value of Equity, we continue to work as a district to remove barriers and foster environments where all students and staff feel safe, respected, and empowered to thrive—personally and culturally.

Pride Month is recognized across Canada and around the world as a time to honour and celebrate the diverse identities within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. In the Kamloops-Thompson School District, we are proud to support inclusive learning spaces where individuals can share their authentic selves, learn from one another, and build understanding and connection.

This year, during Kamloops Pride Week (June 8–14, 2026), SD73 students and staff joined the community in celebrating Pride by participating in the Pride Open House at Riverside Park on June 12 and walking together in the Kamloops Pride Parade on June 14. These moments reflect our collective commitment to inclusion, belonging, and celebrating diversity within our schools and community.
