POST SECONDARY INFORMATION:
Simon Fraser University
Hello Counsellors,
It’s Sarah and Alex from Simon Fraser University. We thought you would appreciate the latest information from SFU along with helpful supports to guide your students throughout their application process, including upcoming deadlines and events.
Parent and guardian resources: information about SFU and the application process you can share with the parents and guardians of your students
We have developed resources specifically for parents and guardians to help their student move forward on their application to SFU. We appreciate the process can sometimes seem overwhelming, so these tips outline what to expect at each step along the way – from applying to SFU through to starting the first term here.
How these resources help parents and guardians:
- Ways to search for programs and faculties at SFU
- The steps to take for an application to SFU
- Resources to support their student
- Details about SFU financial aid, including scholarships and bursaries
- Upcoming deadlines
SFU campus tours and events – there are a lot to choose from!
- Connecting with us on campus for tours and events is the best way for students to see firsthand if SFU is the right fit for their academic goals and interests. They can meet with current undergraduate students and other SFU representatives, receive guidance on applications and admission, and gain invaluable insight into university life.
- Students are welcome to sign up on their own and we strongly encourage parents and guardians to join in on campus tours.
- We offer regularly scheduled tours at SFU Burnaby and Surrey campuses year-round to accommodate busy schedules.
- Please let your students and their parents/guardians know they can easily schedule a campus tour online through our website.
- Throughout the busy fall and winter months, we regularly host events covering different topics that address both domestic and international student needs.
- These events include how-to webinars taking students through the application process in detail, drop-in advising sessions for students to bring their questions, and detailed information sessions.
- We hope you will share information about these events with your students and their parents/guardians.
Kindly,
Sarah Willson & Alex Tabunar
