School Sports
Extra-curricular school sports are possible through the volunteer efforts of staff, family and community members. All coaches must have a Criminal Record Check on file with the school and have complete the BCSS Concussion Training Program. Rayleigh Elementary is an active participant in elementary sports that are offered through the SD73 Elementary Sports Council.

Volleyball Season 2025 - released by the Elementary Sports Council on October 15, 2025
With the restructuring of schools (K-7), the Elementary Sports Council has eliminated the Tier 2 Level of play within sports. In addition, schools are being strongly encouraged to have Grade 4 students participate in sports within a Drop-in/Intramural format instead of a Tier 3 Level of play. Drop-in/Intramurals play allows for more game time for students without the added pressures on schools of hosting games. At Rayleigh, we are planning to hold two lunch hours per week for Grade 4 students to receive skill development practice from Grade 6/7 leaders, volunteers and staff and then play games of volleyball.
Grade 5/6/7 students will have the opportunity to play on teams that fit them best. The Elementary Sports Council is offering Competitive and Recreation leagues that teams can be placed in and will play against teams from around the School District.
Below are the 2025 Volleyball Schedules. The first games of the season are scheduled for October 21st, 2025.
