Sun Peaks School has experienced consistent growth as the population of Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality (commonly known as Sun Peaks) increases at a fast pace (top five growing municipalities) provincially. 

Sun Peaks School is currently K-9 and NorKam Secondary School is Sun Peaks students’ designated school for Grades 10-12. Sun Peaks School is comprised entirely of portables. 

In the 2023-2024 school year, the District facilitated community engagement sessions with the Sun Peaks School community about ways to manage space pressures as well as facility and staffing requirements given the unique nature of the school being spread across three campuses and within portables (i.e., the school does do not have a gym, library, or multi-purpose rooms like other brick and mortar schools). Nov. 27, 2023 - Video Presentation	SD73 shares Sun Peaks Community Engagement Webinar with parents and staff, asks for feedback on survey, and responds to two letters from Mayor Al Raine and the Chair of the PAC and President of Sun Peaks Education Society.
