CEA In-House Certification Program
School District No. 73 (Kamloops-Thompson) launched the Certified Education Assistant (CEA) In-House Certification Program in early 2026.
This new program prepares individuals to work as CEAs in elementary and secondary schools across the Kamloops-Thompson School District.
Designed and delivered in-house, this affordable, 7-month, part-time program combines best practices in the education support field with a focus on the specific needs of students in our district.
The CEA In-House Certification Program curriculum aligns with BC’s Education Assistant (EA) Competency Framework and is delivered through a blend of synchronous online classes, asynchronous self-directed studies, and occasional in-person certification training in Kamloops.
After completing the program, graduates are fully qualified to work in K–12 schools as Certified Education Assistants.
Applications are now being accepted for the CEA In-House Certification Program cohort beginning September 2026.
