Celebrating Child Care Month & Child Care Provider Appreciation Day
In May we celebrate Child Care Month in British Columbia, and on May 8 we recognize Child Care Provider Appreciation Day. This is an important time to acknowledge and celebrate the dedicated individuals and organizations who care for and support our youngest learners.
Today and throughout this month, we encourage you to take a moment to recognize the child care providers who make a positive difference every day in schools, homes, and communities across the province. Their work supports children and families during some of the most important years of growth and development.
Quality early learning and child care play a vital role in children’s well-being and early development. By creating safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environments, child care providers support a positive transition into the K-12 education system.
To all the child care providers and Early Childhood Educators in SD73: thank you for your dedication, compassion, expertise, and everything you do to support the youngest learners in our district. Whether you support children in Before and After School Care, Preschool, Strong Start, or child care centers across our district, you create meaningful opportunities for children to thrive. Your work strengthens families, neighbourhoods, and school communities. We are grateful for the role you play in supporting early learning in the Kamloops-Thompson School District.
With gratitude,
Heather Grieve, Board Chair
