Happy Teacher Appreciation Day!

District News |

On May 5, we come together to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Day and recognize the extraordinary teachers we are fortunate to work with and learn from in the Kamloops-Thompson School District.

To every teacher in SD73: thank you for the commitment, care, and professionalism you bring to your work each day. The time you take to know each learner helps create learning environments that inspire students to learn, grow, and thrive. Through thoughtful instruction and encouragement, you help students discover who they are and who they can become.

Your impact and influence extend far beyond classroom walls. The lessons you teach and the relationships you build reach into homes, playgrounds, teams, and communities. Whether you are guiding students through essential curricular learning, coaching teams, leading extracurricular activities and clubs, mentoring students, or being a trusted adult in a student’s life, your impact is immense and immeasurable. Thank you for all that you do today, and every day.

Today, we invite staff, students, and parents to take a moment to recognize and thank the teachers who have made a difference in their lives. By sharing your gratitude for teachers, you are helping to lift up the people who uplift future generations.

On Teacher Appreciation Day, and throughout the year, we are grateful for every teacher’s dedication to students, to learning, and to one another. Thank you for the many ways you continue to strengthen our schools and communities.

With gratitude,

Heather Grieve, Board Chair

Mike St. John, Superintendent
