School District No. 73 (Kamloops-Thompson) is deeply concerned by the hateful demonstration that took place yesterday near the former Kamloops Indian Residential School.

There is no place for white supremacy, racism, or hate in our community or in our schools.

We stand alongside Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc, Survivors, their families, and the First Nation communities on which our school district resides. We must continue to stand together, honour the truth of our history, and ensure that hate and intimidation do not deter the work of Truth and Reconciliation.
