Sa-Hali Secondary Wins Bronze at Girls Soccer Provincials in Kamloops
From May 28–30, 2026, Sa-Hali Secondary, St. Anns Academy, and Kelowna Secondary co-hosted one of BC School Sports’ biggest provincial championship tournaments.
48 soccer teams from across the British Columbia gathered at McArthur Island Park to compete in the 2026 Girls Soccer Provincial Championships. Competing across three tiers (A, AA, and AAA), with 16 teams in each division, the event brought exceptional athleticism, sportsmanship, and energy to Kamloops.
Sa-Hali Secondary’s Senior Girls Soccer team delivered a standout performance, capturing bronze in the AA division—the school’s highest ever finish for Senior Girls Soccer. Westsyde Secondary placed 12th overall, while Valleyview Secondary finished 13th in the province, rounding out a strong showing from SD73 teams.
Full tournament results for all divisions are available at provincials.bcschoolsports.ca.
The success of the tournament was made possible by the leadership and dedication of many people in our district. Special thanks go to Mary Bartucci, Sa-Hali Secondary’s coach and AA tournament chair, whose commitment helped bring the event to life. Thanks to dedication and hard work of staff and coaches from SD73, St. Ann’s Academy, Kelowna Secondary, and BC School Sports, the tournament was a huge success, showcasing Kamloops as Canada's Tournament Capital.
Thanks also go out to the Lions Club who provided dinner for all teams on Friday night.
